Tip of the Week

08-11-11    Mark your rows instead of measuring.  Measuring can be misleading as we have a tendency to tug or pull the work.  Try this instead…When you do your gauge swatch, remember to do a row count and put a pin every inch (or two).   It is much easier to do an inch of knitting than to look at doing all the inches and then measuring.

It is also a great way  of getting pieces to be exactly the same size (easier to seam too).

Shaping?  Put a life line in the first row of this section and count the rows from this point.

10-06-2011   Is your cast on or bind off too tight?      Use a needle that is 1-2 sizes larger.
Frogging back a few rows?        Pick the stitches back up with a size  0 or 1  needle.

Look for additional weeks to be posted!
